Depending how jetlag hits you you might find yourself wide awake when you arrive as your body will think its mid-day, so booking a hotel isn't likely to be worth it imho. Another option is to stay a night in a nearby hotel, but of course its more expensive. Otherwise just resting at the airport would be a safe option, its quiet at night and safe. They might be closed even if they claim to be 24hour, leaving you out there stranded and hungry in the cold.It takes a bit of time to get used to it, I don't recommand it being through a potentially fruitless expedition carrying all your bags while exhausted from your countless hours flying. Unless you come from one of India's colder mountainous regions you are likely to find it very cold here (especially in the middle of the night).They are not that close and the airport road is not very walkable.I also strongly suggest you avoid walking to fast foods near the airport. You won't find any at that time in YQB except in overpriced and crappy food machines.

Quebec is remarkably safe in general, a lot of people don't lock their doors and violent incidents are super rare. Don't worry about taking a cab at night in Quebec, you'll be safe.
